A wonderful book on bitcoin that covers the technology and the business realities. The author, being a CPA and someone interested in digging into new technologies to see how they fit into today's business environment provides an opportunity for a helpful perspective that Kirk delivers on. An easy and enjoyable read.

Excellent and very beneficial reading.

The section Why this book was written says Stephen Covey appropriately said "To Understand something is to understand its opposite". Well, Kirk certainly did an excellent job of explaining the current payment system. But this was merely the beginning since the book is about Bitcoin and how much useful can it be for a business to leverage the payment system that comes with it. Not just the why but the what and how. What are the tools and services available for those interested in it and what's some of the legislative and tax environment pertinent to it.

Who Was
Robert E. Lee?

On January 19, 1807, in Westmoreland County, Virginia, Robert Edward Lee was born. Robert’s father was Henry Lee. His nickname was Light Horse Harry. In the Revolutionary War, he was in charge of troops that rode on horseback. He was a strong fighter, a risk-taker, a hero. He was also a good friend of George Washington.

The Lees of Virginia were famous throughout the United States. Like Henry Lee, many had fought in the Revolutionary War. Two of Robert’s cousins were among the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Robert grew up with a great love for his country. Yet, in 1861, the country he so admired was torn apart by the start of the Civil War. Robert was torn, too. He wanted the country to remain united. He did not want the South to break away from the United States and form a separate country. But that is what happened.

When asked to lead Northern troops against the South, Robert E. Lee was even more torn. How could he go to war against his friends and family who lived in Virginia? It was a hard choice. Robert thought about loyalty. He thought about honor. In the end, Robert decided to fight against the country that his forefathers helped to create. For Robert the most important thing to him was his family, and his home: Virginia.

From an American Military Historian: ABSOLUTE FAIL - **EMBARASSING** DESERVES LESS THAN ONE STAR

Page 67 discusses Lee's rise to command of the Army of Northern Virginia. Anyone remotely familiar with this knows that commanding general, Joseph Johnston, was wounded in the fighting of Seven Pines (or Fair Oaks), heading off McClellan's thrust at Richmond, Virginia. This book writes:
"Then disaster struck- Confederate General Johnston was wounded during the battle at Shiloh, Tennessee. Who could take his place? Robert E. Lee." This SOOOOOO mangled it's difficult to sort it out.

Seven Pines was fought on May 31-June 1, 1862, in Virginia. The Confederate force was the Army of Northern Virginia. Joseph Johnston was in command and was wounded.

Shiloh (Pittsburgh Landing) was fought April 6-7, 1862. The Confederate force was the Army of Mississippi. Albert Sidney Johnston was in command and died.

It seems clear that this book was written by someone who knew just enough about the War between the States to get herself in trouble, by confusing the two Johnstons. That could be forgiven, except that ANY biography of Lee is going to reference the relationship between J. Johnston and Lee, and anyone familiar with the war knows that there were a myriad of Johnstons and Johnsons...

I won't even go into errors of the summary of his views on slavery... This book is drivel... A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

I like this book a lot.

This is a great way to teach history to our young people. I really do like this book and the others in the series as well. It is very readable and the illustrations are nice. It is easy to understand and reading it would not take an enormous amount of time which is great especially for our reluctant readers. I am very pleased with this book about Robert E Lee.

The best book I ever purchased

I love this book!! I have been dealing with hypothyroidism for over 10 years now. I learned more about my thyroid from reading this book than I did from my doctors. There is so much information in this book and it covers every hormone. I purchased this book for me and it also gave me much needed information for my Autistic granddaughter. I purchased 2 more for my sisters. If you want to change your life for the better and feel great, I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed!!!

Tempted to read, but.......... I live in the same town as Ms. Balleck, and see her in the grocery store, at BBQ's, etc. Sadly, she NEVER looks happy. Just saw her in City Market, looking very grumpy, frowny, unhappy, tried to smile at her and say "hello" but she just stomped on by. The reviews of those who have read the book are enticing, but WOW, Ms. Balleck is apparently NOT following her own advice?

About the Author

Peter Dicken is Emeritus Professor of Economic Geography in the School of Environment and Development at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He has held visiting academic appointments at universities and research institutes in Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, Singapore, Sweden, and the United States, and lectured in many other countries throughout Europe and Asia. He is an Academician of the Social Sciences, is a recipient of the Victoria Medal of the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) and of the Centenary Medal of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, and holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Uppsala, Sweden.

Book Review: Legal Highs by Wensley Clarkson

This paperback book of 305 pages highlights the new craze of “legal highs” which are manufactured drugs that are supposed to be legal and which represent analogues of illegal drugs such as methamphetamines and marijuana.

The book mostly reviews those characters now producing and/or selling the drugs throughout Europe and the USA. Many of the drugs are actually “cooked” in China and exported to Europe and elsewhere.

The highlight and main object of the book are the interviews with those selling the so called legal high drugs who in the main, believe that these drugs are mostly harmless. However, the figures that are emerging from various countries where these drugs are a craze, show otherwise, The drug users as well as sellers believe these lethal drugs are legal because they have low potency but in fact the reality is mostly the opposite. The deaths resulting from the so-called legal highs are mounting day by day.

Some of the drugs are known as spice, 2M2B (2 methyl 2 butanol), Bromo Dragonfly, 2Cp, mephedrone, Salvia, Benzo Fury and kratom. Bromo Dragonfly is renowned as an extremely potent psychedelic drug and is considered by toxicologists as well as the author as one of the most dangerous legal highs of all time.

This is a very interesting book but which has no photographs or an index. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this book to the interested reader and legal high addict because of its alerts and warnings and valuable information on a new pandemic.

A must have for Omo Obatala

Here is where those who walk with and are children of the august Yoruba Orisha Obatala (Maferrefun Baba Mi!) can find guidance and depth from the Motherlands that witnessed the Mystery of White Cloth coming forth! I was at first hesitant, but finally relented, and I am finally glad I have it for my library and personal edification as a devotee of Ifa and the sacred ways of the Orisha.

This is without doubt the most profound book written on any orisha to date. Unlike most books on the subject, the Chief Babalawo Adewuyi does not spend so much of the book discussing things like divination and sacrifice. Instead, he focuses on the stories and gives philosophical analysis of the stories with support by various odu. This book could be longer, for this is arguably the most important orisha, and a better editor would have been great, but many thanks goes out to this sage for bringing out the truth about Obatala, the divinity of purity, morality, and peace.

In electronic applications the organic colorant is often employed in a device. Typical examples include liquid crystal dyes, laser dyes, electro� chromic dyes, dyes for solar cells, dyes for micro color filters, and dyes for nonlinear optical applications.
